About This Machine
Top 'Em is a single-player electro-mechanical pin game released by the Western Equipment & Supply Company in October 1936. A flipperless machine of the mid-1930s, it relied on the plunger and the ball's path across the playfield, with scoring shown on a lit backglass.
Top 'Em comes from the crowded Depression-era market, when numerous Chicago-area firms turned out inexpensive coin-operated pin games for taverns, drugstores, and arcades. Surviving examples are of interest chiefly to specialists in pre-war coin-op history.
