About This Machine
Back to the Future: The Pinball is a solid-state machine from Data East USA, manufactured in June 1990 and tied to the hugely popular film franchise. Themed around the time-traveling adventures of the movies, it brought the DeLorean and its blend of comedy and science fiction to the playfield.
Built as a four-player game on Data East's hardware with an alphanumeric display, it offered two flippers, two ramps, and multiball play. Data East produced roughly 3,000 units, giving the title a healthy commercial run during the licensed-theme boom of the early 1990s.
