About This Machine
Royal Rumble is a professional-wrestling-themed pinball machine produced by Data East USA, Inc. in May 1994, drawing on the WWF's Royal Rumble event. Running on Data East's Version 3 hardware, it is a four-player game with a dot matrix display, four flippers, two ramps, and multiball support that echoes the free-for-all chaos of a battle-royal wrestling match.
Data East manufactured approximately 3,500 units of Royal Rumble, making it one of several sports- and entertainment-licensed tables the company released during 1994. Its multi-ramp, four-flipper layout is characteristic of Data East's dot-matrix-era design.
