Retro Atomic Zombie Adventureland
About This Machine
Retro Atomic Zombie Adventureland, often abbreviated RAZA, was an ambitious solid-state pinball project from Zidware Pinball USA, dated to 2012. It was one of three high-end, limited-edition collector games announced by designer John Popadiuk after he founded Zidware, alongside Magic Girl and Alice in Wonderland. The design called for a four-player game with two flippers, ramps, and, unusually, a TV-screen display in place of a conventional dot-matrix unit.
The project never reached production. Zidware repeatedly missed delivery deadlines and mismanaged the prepaid funds of buyers, leading to backlash and lawsuits; the effort was ultimately canceled. Rights later passed to deeproot Pinball, which hoped to finish RAZA and the other Zidware titles, but deeproot collapsed amid SEC charges against its founder. A court judgment was eventually entered against Popadiuk and Zidware. The machine is not listed on IPDB and is documented from the Pinside machine database.
