Retro Atomic Zombie Adventureland (Xtra Edition)
About This Machine
Retro Atomic Zombie Adventureland (Xtra Edition) is a prototype variant of RAZA, the game that was meant to launch Deeproot Pinball of San Antonio, Texas into the pinball industry. Based on a concept by veteran designer John Popadiuk, with programming by Steven Bowden, the game paired a retro atomic-age look with a zombie amusement park theme and featured two flippers, three ramps, multiball play with up to six balls, and an LCD display.
After repeated delays and a troubled first public showing marred by reliability and design issues, a prototype went up for preorder in December 2020. No machines were ever delivered, and the title was canceled when Deeproot collapsed and went out of business.
Just four units of the Xtra Edition were produced, leaving it as a rare surviving piece of one of the most infamous failed launches in modern pinball history.
