About This Machine

Ranger In The Ruins is a third-party add-on game for the Multimorphic P3 Pinball Platform, released in September 2020 by For Amusement Only Games, LLC and developed by Nick Baldridge. Sold as a software kit for roughly $150, it runs on the P3's Cosmic Cart Racing playfield module, turning existing hardware into an entirely new game.

The game takes a roguelike approach unusual in pinball: players begin in a world they do not yet understand, and which shots to hit and how many points they award is determined by items collected throughout gameplay. In a clever networked twist, P3 machines connected to the internet receive items from the 'spirits' of ruined rangers on other players' machines.

With two flippers, two ramps, and multiball play with up to five balls for as many as four players, Ranger In The Ruins showcases how the P3's modular, software-driven design lets small independent developers publish full pinball experiences without building physical machines.
