Drained
About This Machine
Drained, released in November 2022 by For Amusement Only Games, LLC, holds a notable distinction: it was the first third-party playfield module produced for Multimorphic's P3 Pinball Platform. Priced at $3,500 at launch, the package transforms a P3 machine into a gothic vampire-hunting adventure, complete with full cabinet art, magnetic artwork, slingshot plastics, and a themed apron.
The game was largely the work of Nick Baldridge, who handled game design, sound design, art direction, and programming, with physical production and artwork by Molly Baldridge and an original soundtrack composed by Charles Wolf. The story follows two friends who stumble upon a castle with a sleeping vampire inside and take up vampire hunting -- fitting the game's tagline that all intruders will end up 'DRAINED.'
Gameplay challenges players to confront 15 different vampires while keeping the ball in play, exploring castles and acquiring tools by completing six different shot sequences. Built on the P3's LCD playfield and modular hardware, this four-player solid-state game blends the platform's innovative dynamic-display features with classic pinball sensibilities, and it proved that independent developers could bring complete games to Multimorphic's ecosystem.
