Pulp Fiction (Bad Mother Flipper LE)

Pulp Fiction (Bad Mother Flipper Limited Edition) is Chicago Gaming Company's top-tier version of its 2023 Pulp Fiction pinball machine, released in March 2023 at an MSRP of $9,249 and limited to a maximum of 1,000 units. The project famously began at the request of Quentin Tarantino himself, who wanted a 1980s-style Pulp Fiction pinball machine, and veteran designer Mark Ritchie crafted a playfield that looks like a classic from that era while packing in more mechanisms and depth than its retro appearance suggests.

True to its 1980s inspiration, the game uses alphanumeric LED score displays instead of a dot-matrix or LCD screen, and the two-flipper layout deliberately omits ramps in favor of old-school shot geometry. Under the glass, however, the rules are thoroughly modern: the game includes multiple multiball modes, mini-wizard modes, and a full wizard mode called Divine Intervention. The sound package features hundreds of iconic lines from the film's cast plus five licensed songs from the movie soundtrack, including Misirlou, Jungle Boogie, Son of a Preacher Man, Comanche, and You Never Can Tell.

The Bad Mother Flipper LE adds a numbered plaque, a custom Jack Rabbit Slim's topper, interior mirror blades, a shaker motor, exclusive artwork, and powder-coated black armor over the Special Edition. It marked Chicago Gaming Company's first wholly original title after a string of acclaimed Bally/Williams remakes.
