No Good Gofers: Battle for the Green (kit)

No Good Gofers: Battle for the Green is a licensed "2.0" conversion kit from Cardona Pinball Designs, released in February 2023 at an MSRP of about $2,000. Rather than a standalone machine, it is an upgrade package that installs into an existing Williams No Good Gofers (1997), replacing the original electronics with a modern FAST Pinball-based control system, a new CPU, upgraded audio hardware, and a 15.6-inch LCD monitor in place of the dot-matrix speaker panel.

The kit delivers an entirely new game built on the classic three-flipper, three-ramp golf layout, with all-new rules, animations, and sound, including multiball play. A menu option lets owners switch back and play the original No Good Gofers software, so nothing is lost in the conversion. The story of the new game centers on a wandering bear who is struck on the head by a golf ball and loses his memory.

Cardona Pinball Designs produces these kits under license from Planetary Pinball Supply, which holds the rights to classic Bally/Williams titles. The interface hardware also supports future add-ons such as shaker motors, RGB lighting kits, and a motorized gofer topper, making Battle for the Green part of the growing wave of "2.0" remasters that modernize beloved 1990s machines.
