Labyrinth

Labyrinth is the debut pinball machine from Barrels of Fun, a Houston, Texas startup founded by David van Es, who spent seven years designing games at Spooky Pinball before launching his own company. Revealed in October 2023, the game is based on Jim Henson's 1986 cult-classic fantasy film starring David Bowie as Jareth the Goblin King.

Players navigate the labyrinth alongside the film's beloved characters — Hoggle, Sir Didymus and Ludo can be recruited as loyal companions — while all five of David Bowie's songs from the movie feature in the game. The machine runs on the FAST Pinball control system and offers three flippers, three ramps, three multiball modes and dual LCD displays for up to four players.

Production was capped at a maximum of 1,100 units at a $10,600 launch price, with premium touches standard across the run: custom-sculpted interactive toys, powder-coated armor, factory-installed inner blade art, mirrored playfield plastics and a high-quality sound system. As a first game from a brand-new manufacturer, Labyrinth drew considerable attention in the pinball community on its reveal.
