Dungeon Door Defender

Dungeon Door Defender is a 2023 add-on game for the Multimorphic P3 pinball platform, released in September 2023 at $199. It is the first solo third-party release from Michael Ocean, previously the lead software developer on the P3 titles Weird Al's Museum of Natural Hilarity and Final Resistance.

The game delivers a fantasy take on the tower-defense genre as a pinball experience: designed for the Heist playfield module, it has players shooting virtual enemies with the real pinball to keep them from reaching and breaking through the dungeon door. The P3's interactive playfield display renders the advancing hordes directly under the ball.

A single-player game with three flippers and two ramps, Dungeon Door Defender highlights how the P3 platform lets individual developers publish inventive new game modes for existing hardware at a fraction of the cost of a full machine.
