Metallica Remastered (Premium)

Metallica Remastered (Premium) is part of Stern Pinball's October 2024 revival of its 2013 hit Metallica, revealed on October 16, 2024, at an MSRP of $9,699. The design team was again led by John Borg, with software engineer Raymond Davidson updating the game for modern hardware.

Built on Stern's SPIKE 2 system, the Remastered edition swaps the original dot-matrix display for a full-color LCD with all-new animations and live concert footage. The soundtrack expands to 22 Metallica songs - eight more than the original - and the celebrated Lyman Sheats rule set has been enhanced with two new modes based on 72 Seasons and Hardwired...to Self-Destruct, plus a new 'Blackened' wizard mode.

Borg's classic playfield architecture is upgraded with three all-new sculptures - Sparky, the Hammer, and RGB-illuminated Skulls - a Metallica logo spell-out on the back panel, dramatic UV lighting effects, and numerous quality and durability refinements. The game includes Stern's Insider Connected platform for ongoing code updates and connected play.
