Blood Bank Billiards
About This Machine
Blood Bank Billiards is a 2024 release from independent developer Ian Harrower Games, created not as a standalone cabinet but as a game application for Multimorphic's P3 Pinball Platform, which explains its modest $200 price tag. Owners of the modular P3 system can install the title to transform their machine into a darkly comic tribute to the electromechanical era of pinball.
The game is a vampiric twist on classic billiards-themed pinball machines: players must sink each of the pool balls before finally pocketing the eight ball at a gobble hole, a mechanic lifted straight from EM-era design. The P3's large playfield LCD is used to striking effect, with flashing blood targets that splatter the screen and leave gory trails behind the ball as it rolls.
True to its retro inspiration, the backbox display recreates the look of a silk-screened EM backglass, complete with scoring reels, ball counts, tilt and extra ball indicators drawn as they would have appeared decades ago. A four-player, two-flipper design, Blood Bank Billiards shows how the P3's software-driven platform lets boutique developers revive vintage pinball ideas with modern technology.
