King Kong: Myth of Terror Island (Pro)
About This Machine
King Kong: Myth of Terror Island is Stern Pinball's April 2025 release, designed by Keith Elwin on the SPIKE 2 platform. Rather than adapting a specific film, the game tells an original story inspired by the classic King Kong mythos: players join Ann Darrow, Jack Driscoll, and Carl Denham on a journey to mysterious Terror Island, culminating in Kong's rampage through New York City. Artwork comes from an unusual three-way collaboration between Jeremy Packer (Zombie Yeti), Kevin O'Connor, and Greg Freres, with sound design by Jerry Thompson and custom speech by Brian 'Q' Quinn.
The Pro model features a custom-sculpted Kong figure near a punchback target that fires the ball back at high speed, a subway train car, and a gong positioned near a vertical up-kicker. The Pit area is guarded by a giant spider that menaces the ball. With four flippers, three ramps, and seven multiball modes packed onto the playfield, the Pro delivers the core Terror Island experience at the entry point of the lineup.
The Pro edition launched at an MSRP of $6,999, below the Premium ($9,699) and the Limited Edition, which was restricted to 932 units.
