Black Knight 3000

Black Knight 3000 is a 2025 home-brew conversion kit project that reimagines Williams' classic Black Knight 2000 with modern hardware and all-new content. Built on a FAST Pinball System 11 controller with game logic written in the open-source Mission Pinball Framework (MPF), and paired with a Pinsound audio board, the project transforms the 1989 original into a fresh experience while keeping its iconic DNA.

The ruleset, largely inspired by Black Knight 2000 but substantially updated, features three mini modes, four mission modes, and three wizard modes, complete with fresh rules, new audiovisual callouts, and layered music cues that ramp up with gameplay. The soundtrack keeps the original's iconic melodies but recreates them with a live band, using layered guitars so players can follow the game state directly through the music; the callouts were freshly recorded in a studio, and brand-new tracks were composed for the new wizard modes.

The four-player game supports up to six-ball multiball and adds an LCD display to the classic layout. It has been actively showcased at events such as the 2025 Chicago Pinball Expo, where players could get hands-on demonstrations of this ambitious fan-made sequel.
