Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye (Premium)

Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye (Premium) is Stern Pinball's May 2026 celebration of the classic Transformers franchise, created in collaboration with Hasbro and running on Stern's SPIKE 3 system. Announced and released on May 20, 2026 in Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition models, the Premium carries an MSRP of $9,699 and sends up to four players on missions inspired by the major story arcs of the original 1984 animated television series.

The game's centerpiece is a fully animatronic Megatron figure with an articulated fusion cannon that rotates and fires pinballs back at the player, while Soundwave's cassette deck locks balls before launching them back into play and a custom-sculpted Optimus Prime bash toy stands ready for battle. Players store Energon Cubes to power up, team up with the Dinobots, and collect Transformers Tech Spec cards on the way to a climactic showdown with Megatron.

On the digital side, the game uses Stern's Insider Connected platform and introduces a new Cyber Coin wallet system for unlocking exclusive challenge modes, plus a first-of-its-kind-for-Stern head-to-head experience where two players compete simultaneously in real time. Nostalgic touches abound: custom call-outs from original voice actors Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) and Frank Welker (Megatron and Soundwave), and a special mode featuring Stan Bush's iconic song "The Touch" honoring the 40th anniversary of The Transformers: The Movie.
