Easy Aces
About This Machine
Easy Aces, designed by Wayne Neyens and manufactured by D. Gottlieb & Company in December 1955, is a classic single-player example of Gottlieb's beloved card-and-gambling-themed woodrails, produced in a confirmed run of 1,100 units. With artwork by the great Roy Parker, its backglass proudly carries Gottlieb's famous phrase: 'Amusement Pinballs, as American as Baseball and Hot Dogs!'
The game features two flippers, four pop bumpers, two slingshots, and four standup targets, all of which contribute to fast-paced 1950s action. A standout element is the gobble hole - a hallmark of the era that swallows the ball while awarding points, forcing players to weigh risk against reward. The machine's backglass also features light animation, with playing cards lighting up to add an extra layer of visual excitement to gameplay.
Easy Aces has a small but genuine claim to Gottlieb history: it was the first Gottlieb game to use metal legs, though sample games from early production still shipped with wooden legs, and the metal legs for single-player games were initially painted cream-colored. For enthusiasts, playing an Easy Aces is a chance to experience the classic Neyens/Parker partnership at the height of the 1950s woodrail era.
