About This Machine

The Majestic (Extended Play Prototype) is a 1957 Gottlieb prototype, designed by Wayne Neyens with art by Roy Parker, built as the four-player Add-A-Ball counterpart to Gottlieb's standard replay game 'Majestic'. Its "Pageantry - Women" theme reflects the ornate, glamour-focused artwork Gottlieb favored on several games of the period.

A two-page BOM index examined by researcher Steve Young, dated February 11, 1957, lists a Delay Unit and a Balls Played Unit, along with three bells and a knocker for sound — matching the machine's documented notable features — and confirms the four-player configuration. That paperwork is dated about a week after the BOM for the standard replay version.

As with Gottlieb's other 1957 Extended Play prototypes, at least one unit is presumed to have been built given the engineering effort invested, though little further documentation of its specific play mechanics survives today.
