About This Machine

Little Buckaroo was manufactured by J. H. Keeney and Company of Chicago in April 1959. It is not a pinball machine but an "electronic upright," also called a flasher-type slot machine. It is a one-coin, single-player game with a Western theme that operators could configure to accept nickels, dimes, or quarters.

Keeney announced Little Buckaroo in The Cash Box on April 11, 1959, describing it as "strictly a 'one-coin' game" - a departure from earlier titles, based on operator demand. The very next week, Keeney renamed the game "Big Round-Up," keeping the same backglass artwork; the company later reported that sales took off after the name change.

Its cabinet was advertised at 56 inches high, 22 inches wide, and 17.5 inches deep. Beyond this history, no further details about its designer or specific artwork are documented.
