Jumbo (button console model)
About This Machine
Jumbo (button console model) was manufactured by Bally as model 626-B in May 1959. It is not a pinball machine but an "electronic upright," also called a flasher-type slot machine, which increments a credit meter rather than paying out cash. It carries a Circus/Carnival theme and was a single-player game.
Bally offered this game in two console configurations: a "handle console" model (626) with a lever-arm and ratchet action, and this "button console" model (626-B) with a jumbo-size polished push-button. Both used the same schematic, W-885-2d, and operators could configure either version to accept nickels, dimes, or quarters. Bally announced both models in Cash Box on May 9, 1959, noting they had already shipped to distributors.
The cabinet was advertised at 57 inches high, 28 inches wide, and 17.5 inches deep. Bally would later return this game to production in 1960 as "Jumbo '60."
