Super Jumbo
About This Machine
The Super Jumbo, made by Bally Manufacturing Corporation as Model 664 and released to production on September 28, 1960, is not a pinball machine but an "electronic upright," or "flasher type" device. It does not pay out cash; a credit meter increments instead to allow continued play.
Carrying a Circus/Carnival theme like other Bally uprights of the period, the Super Jumbo featured a Score-A-Scope display for showing player scores. Its cabinet was advertised at 56 inches high, 31 inches wide, and 18 inches deep. Bally announced the game in Cash Box on November 12, 1960.
Details about the machine's specific artwork and designer are not documented, but as part of Bally's circus-themed line of coin-operated uprights, the Super Jumbo reflects the company's continued output in this category into the early 1960s.
