Royal Flush
About This Machine
The Royal Flush, manufactured circa the 1930s by King Pin Games Co. of Kalamazoo, Michigan, is a two-player Pure Mechanical (PM) pin table built around a playing-card poker theme, with the Joker serving as a wild card. Play cost 5 cents, and the paper apron's "Two Can Play for a Nickel" messaging suggests balls of two different colors were used so that each player could accumulate a five-ball "hand," with the color served to the plunger determining which player was shooting.
The playfield features 17 trap holes and 3 free play holes. As with other mechanical games of its type, the playfield glass is accessed for cleaning or repair by first removing the one-piece rectangular wood trim that frames it.
Little else is documented about the Royal Flush's designer or artwork, but its poker theme and two-player ball-color mechanic make it a distinctive example of card-themed pin games from the era.
