Hy-Skor
About This Machine
The Hy-Skor is a rare and mysterious specimen in the world of pinball, with its origins shrouded in obscurity. Despite the lack of information about its manufacturer, year of production, and designer, this mechanical marvel is a Pure Mechanical (PM) tabletop/counter game predating the electromechanical era, relying solely on manual ball control mechanisms to create gameplay.
One of its notable features is its use of seven balls for a single cent coin drop, an unusually generous ratio of plays to price that would have appealed to players looking for extended entertainment for their money.
Beyond that, little is known about the Hy-Skor. It has not been confirmed whether this machine is the same as the Hi-Skor Amusement Company's 1932 "Hi-Skor" - the owner found no identifying information inside the surviving example to settle the question. It remains an intriguing entry for collectors interested in early tabletop pinball.
