Sea Avenger
About This Machine
Sea Avenger, announced by Meadows Games, Inc. of Sunnyvale, California in late 1976, was a solid-state electronic pinball machine notable chiefly because Meadows was primarily a video game manufacturer — this appears to be their only pinball release.
The game's history is murky. It was announced for the MOA and IAAPA trade shows in November 1976, but a contemporary report stated the "new solid state pinball was nowhere to be found" at MOA, and no confirmation exists that it appeared at IAAPA either. It did appear at the Amusement Trades Exposition in London in January 1977, and reports place it at test locations in California around the same time. After that, no further mentions of the game have been found, suggesting it was likely never placed into full production.
Because so little documentation survives, specifics about Sea Avenger's playfield layout, features, and theme remain unknown. Its obscurity and uncertain production history make it a curiosity for collectors interested in the early solid-state era and in one-off pinball efforts from manufacturers better known for other products.
