Godzilla (Premium)
About This Machine
The Godzilla (Premium) pinball machine, designed by Keith Elwin and manufactured by Stern Pinball, is a modern take on the iconic monster of Japanese cinema. Released in 2021, this solid state electronic game runs on Stern's SPIKE 2 system and brings Godzilla's rampage to the playfield with cutting-edge mechanics.
What makes Godzilla truly unique is its intricate gameplay mechanics. Players are treated to three flippers, two slingshots, eight stand-up targets, and three spinning targets, all set against the backdrop of a motorized, collapsing skyscraper that diverts the ball onto intersecting ramps. A rotating 3-bank of stand-up targets in front of the Mechagodzilla toy presents a spinning target and jump ramp, and a magnetic "newton ball" mechanism transfers momentum to a captive ball to strike a standup target. The game's multiball can run with up to six balls in play at once.
One notable aspect of the Godzilla (Premium) is its design, featuring a powder-coated black wrinkle finish on the side armor, hinges, lockdown molding, and legs, along with a powder-coated steel bottom arch. Rather than a traditional backglass, the game uses a translite, and it features stereo sound. The machine also comes equipped with Stern's factory-installed Insider Connected player tracking system -- the first Stern game to have this installed at the factory -- giving owners statistics and insights into their gameplay.
