About This Machine

Queen is a re-themed version of Bally's 1981 solid-state classic 'Flash Gordon.' Its original Squawk and Talk sound unit has been removed and replaced with an MP3/amp system that plays Queen songs when the game starts, turning this early-1980s machine into a tribute to the legendary rock band.

Gameplay-wise, Queen retains the original Flash Gordon layout and boasts an impressive array of features for a four-player game, including three flippers, seven star rollover targets, and a split-level playfield with three ramps, two slingshots, and three pop bumpers. The machine's layout is characterized by a complex network of pathways and obstacles, including a 4-bank drop target, a 3-bank drop target, a 3-in-line drop target bank, a single drop target, and a 2-way kick-out hole that challenge players to navigate the ball effectively.

As a re-theme, Queen's backglass and playfield art carry a music-inspired presentation layered over the original Flash Gordon design, tied together by the Queen soundtrack that plays throughout the game. It's a distinctive example of how re-themed machines can give a classic solid-state title new life for a specific fan audience.
