Diamond Lill
About This Machine
Diamond Lill is an electro-mechanical pinball machine from December 1954, crafted by the renowned D. Gottlieb & Company. Designed by Wayne Neyens with artwork by Roy Parker - the celebrated pairing behind many of Gottlieb's classic 1950s games - it is a single-player machine, model number 88, with a confirmed production run of just 700 units.
The playfield offers a classic mid-1950s Gottlieb feature set: two flippers, four pop bumpers, three passive bumpers, two kick-out holes, two rollunders, a horseshoe lane, and an action ring. Layouts like this rewarded careful aiming and nudging, hallmarks of the single-player Gottlieb games that dominated competitive play in the era.
With its small production run and its pedigree from two of the most respected names in 1950s pinball, Diamond Lill is an appealing find for collectors and a fine representative of Gottlieb's golden-age electro-mechanical craftsmanship.
