Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Premium)
About This Machine
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Premium) pinball machine, designed by John Borg with art by Jeremy Packer, was released by Stern Pinball in July 2020, building on Stern's SPIKE 2 platform for a four-player game based on the licensed TMNT cartoon and television property.
The Premium expands on the Pro's feature set with three flippers, three pop bumpers, three slingshots, five standup targets, two bar targets, a bidirectional spinning disc with a magnet, a spinning target, and an up-post in the orbit lane, plus dual left inlanes and support for 3-to-8-ball multiball. As on the Pro, an upper-left 3-ball lock mechanism releases balls to an automatically raised flipper that deflects them into the spinning disc's magnet, but here a lockdown-bar button controls a glider device on the aerial habitrails to stop and divert balls, rather than simple gates. Players can choose cooperative or competitive Game Play Modes with carry-over features between players.
The Premium's cabinet uses the same powder-coated black wrinkle finish side armor, hinges, molding, and legs as the Pro, but adds a black powder-coated steel bottom arch with illuminating panels and a translite in place of a backglass. Toys include an interactive TMNT van with a mechanical side door, a TMNT glider aircraft, and a mechanical Krang figurine that jumps up and down. As with the Pro, the spinning target's sticker originally showed Rocksteady before being replaced with Foot Clan artwork for production. The Premium carried an MSRP of $7,699 when new.
