Bubbles Pop
About This Machine
Bubbles Pop, manufactured by WeChe in 2019, stands out as a notable example of modern solid-state electronic pinball design. Its significance lies in its innovative approach to gameplay, featuring simultaneous play for up to four players at opposite ends of the playfield. This head-to-head format is rare in pinball, making Bubbles Pop an intriguing addition to any collection.
Key features include operator-selectable ball count and play time, as well as a unique setup allowing multiple players to control specific flippers using separate sets of buttons designed for adult and child use. The machine boasts four flippers, slingshots, diverters, and two gobble holes, which award points or free plays based on scoring conditions. A tiebreaker feature adds an element of strategy, as players must balance their individual progress with the goal of outscoring their opponents.
Design-wise, Bubbles Pop's playfield is notable for its transparent plexiglass cover, which allows the six balls mounted underneath to roll across and add visual interest. The cabinet measures 1,594 mm in length, 799 mm in width, and 982.6 mm in height, weighing approximately 161 kg. The use of solid plastic balls with a diameter of around 38 mm and weight of 53.5g provides a distinctive feel to gameplay.
