About This Machine

Fire Cracker, manufactured by Chicago Coin Machine Manufacturing Company in December 1963, is a two-player electro-mechanical add-a-ball pinball machine designed by John Gore, Albin Peters, Jerry Koci, and Wendell McAdams, with artwork by Roy Parker.

Gameplay centers on two flippers, three pop bumpers, and two kick-out holes. Its High Score Zone uses kick-out holes to keep the ball in fast-paced action, while a target at the top of the playfield always scores a Special. A replay (rather than add-a-ball) version of the same game was also released by Chicago Coin in 1963.

Fire Cracker's playfield favors simple, direct gameplay typical of early-1960s add-a-ball machines, with no strong overarching theme beyond its fast-action scoring zones.
