About This Machine
Jarama is a single-player electro-mechanical pinball machine from Centro Matic S.A. of Spain, manufactured sometime during the company's 1973-1978 run. Its auto-racing theme is named for the Circuito del Jarama, a racetrack north of Madrid.
The game features two flippers, five pop bumpers, four slingshots, and seven standup targets, along with a wedge-shaped head. Two score reels on the backglass track the laps a player has completed, while a separate numbered reel identifies which ball is currently in play.
Little further detail survives about Jarama's designer, but its racetrack theming and lap-counting reels make it a distinctive entry among Spanish-made electro-mechanical machines of the 1970s.
