Circus

Circus is a rare and enigmatic electro-mechanical coin-op from an unknown manufacturer, though its backglass animal artwork resembles that of Mills' 1938 'Hi-Boy,' suggesting Mills may be responsible. Despite its pinball-adjacent classification, Circus is not actually a pinball machine — it is a gambling device known as an "electronic upright" or "flasher type" slot machine.

The game is themed around a circus/carnival motif and operated on 5-cent play, typical of the coin-operated gambling devices of its era. Without a surviving flyer or manual, little else is documented about its specific mechanics or payout scheme.

Circus's rarity and its status as an early "upright" gambling device add to its allure for collectors and historians of coin-operated amusements. Its unknown manufacturer and lack of documentation make it an intriguing curiosity, distinct from the pinball machines it is sometimes grouped alongside.
