Netflix Stranger Things (Limited Edition)
About This Machine
The Netflix Stranger Things Limited Edition pinball machine, designed by Brian Eddy with art by Bob Stevlic, was manufactured by Stern Pinball and released in January 2020 in a confirmed run of just 500 units. Each Limited Edition game came with a serialized number plate, a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Gary Stern, and a playfield apron autographed by Eddy, with an MSRP of $9,099.
The machine shares its core feature set with the Pro and Premium editions -- two flippers, ten standup targets, three slingshots, a 4-bank of memory drop targets, a spinning target, a kick-out hole, and a magnetic ball lock that suspends balls above the playfield -- while adding a shaker motor for extra physical feedback. As with the Premium edition, a projector beneath the lower apron displays images and animations on the playfield ramps and target surfaces, and a center ramp lowers to grant access to the Demogorgon bash toy.
The Limited Edition is visually distinguished by its high-gloss purple side armor, hinges, front lockdown molding, and legs, along with a powder-coated steel bottom arch, anti-reflection playfield glass, and playfield art blades. Notably, it uses a mirrored backglass rather than a translite -- though Stern's own promotional flyer reportedly contained a labeling error elsewhere describing it as having a translite. As the rarest of the three Stranger Things editions, this Limited Edition is a highly sought-after piece for collectors.
