Rick And Morty (Blood Sucker Edition)
About This Machine
The Rick and Morty (Blood Sucker Edition) pinball machine, designed by Scott Danesi and manufactured by Spooky Pinball LLC, is a highly sought-after title that combines the dark humor and sci-fi elements of the popular Adult Swim animated series with cutting-edge gameplay features. Released in 2020, this solid-state electronic pinball machine marks a significant milestone in the history of licensed pinball themes, cementing its place as one of the most unique and engaging titles in recent years.
One of the standout features of the Rick and Morty (Blood Sucker Edition) is its innovative gameplay mechanics. The machine boasts three flippers, a pop bumper, slingshot, and an array of illuminating drop targets, spinning targets, and kick-out holes with scoops. The "Flooble Crank" mechanism allows for an added level of strategy, as players must carefully manage the captive ball to rack up points. Additionally, the game's use of magnetism in the right lane adds an extra layer of complexity, making it a true challenge for experienced pinball enthusiasts.
The machine's design and art are a faithful representation of the show's irreverent style, with a custom-tempered glass backglass featuring direct print artwork. The cabinet's purple powder coating and side rails add to its sleek aesthetic, while the use of projection mapping in the "Pepper's Ghost" effect creates an otherworldly ambiance. As one of the most recent licensed pinball titles, the Rick and Morty (Blood Sucker Edition) is a testament to Spooky Pinball LLC's commitment to innovation and creativity in the world of pinball design.

Up-post in center of horseshoe controls which way the ball exits the horseshoe or which drop target blocks the exit to "lock" the ball. Magnet over right inlane activated by extra flipper button on right side of cabinet. The captive ball rests on a switch and against one end of a long wireform mounted to the playfield at both ends (the "flooble crank") and which extends downfield for the ball in play to hit the end facing the player, transferring the ball's momentum through the wireform to the captive ball which leaves the switch for a few milliseconds, causing a score. The portal with subway and teleporting ball effect is an illuminated larger hole (portal) in the back left of the playfield (within the house's garage). This hole is connected via a subway to a ball eject above the left flipper. A ball is staged at the bottom of this subway. When activated as part of game play, the garage has a strobe swirling lighting effect, and the ball in play is directed to the hole via a diverter. This swirling light is projected from the ceiling, onto a piece of clear plastic, creating a hovering/transparent "Pepper's ghost" effect. Immediately when entering the hole, the staged ball is ejected, making it appear that the ball has quickly teleported down the playfield. The previous ball in play is then used as the staged ball for the next time the portal is used. Purple powder coated legs, side rails, hinges, speaker panel, and lockdown bar. Side rails surround the flipper buttons. The backglass is actual tempered glass with a direct print.
