About This Machine

Zingy Bingy is not a produced pinball machine at all, but a notorious unreleased prototype conceived by designer Python Anghelo. He originally came up with the concept in 1985 while working at Williams, producing a signed concept drawing that year, but nothing came of it at the time. A decade later, while at Capcom Coin-Op (1995-1996), Anghelo built a whitewood prototype of his vision, with base rules programmed by Bill Pfutzenreuter.

According to Anghelo, the adult-themed game was intended as a spoof on the conflict between the sexes -- a male 'hunter' character versus a female 'cavekeeper' -- rather than pornographic in nature, though Capcom executives reacted negatively to the whitewood. Anghelo attempted to salvage the concept by reworking it around an Adam and Eve theme, but this did not save the project. It never advanced past the whitewood stage, and no production Project Number was ever assigned to it.

The planned game featured four flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, fifteen standup targets, eleven drop targets, and two kick-out holes, along with mechanisms intended to animate the two characters' expressions and score based on a 'panty drop target.' Capcom terminated its remaining employees in December 1996 before any of this could be finalized, and Zingy Bingy remains an unreleased curiosity known only through its prototype documentation and design notes.
