Black Knight Sword of Rage (Limited Edition)
About This Machine
The Black Knight Sword of Rage Limited Edition pinball machine, designed by Steve Ritchie and manufactured by Stern Pinball, is a thrilling tribute to the iconic knight theme. Released in 2019, this game is a limited production run of 600 units, each including a serialized number plate, a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Gary Stern, and a playfield apron autographed by designer Steve Ritchie — making it a highly sought-after collector's item.
Gameplay is where Black Knight Sword of Rage truly shines. Players can control three flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, and three vertical up-kickers as they navigate the challenging playfield. A spinning target and drop targets add an extra layer of strategy, while the Magna-Save magnet gives players a chance to rescue an otherwise drained ball. The six-ball multiball mode is a highlight, featuring a dynamic upper playfield with a transparent 3-ball lock mechanism. The game's design also boasts a unique bi-directional motorized ball gate shaped like a knight's flail, a nearby gate shaped like the Black Knight's fighting shield, and a button on the lockdown bar for added interactivity.
The machine's visual presentation is equally impressive, with gloss black and gold metal flake accents adorning the side armor, legs, backbox hinges, and leg bolts. A mirrored backglass replaces traditional translite artwork, adding an extra touch of sophistication to the overall design. Playfield art blades evoke the mythical sword and shield of the Black Knight. The use of anti-reflection pinball glass and a powder-coated steel bottom arch further enhance the machine's aesthetic appeal. With its unique blend of challenging gameplay and stunning visuals, the Black Knight Sword of Rage Limited Edition is a must-play for any serious pinball enthusiast.
