Iron Maiden Legacy Of The Beast (Premium)
About This Machine
Iron Maiden Legacy of the Beast (Premium) is Stern Pinball's 2018 mid-tier version of its Iron Maiden-licensed title, designed by Keith Elwin with art by Jeremy Packer. Like the Pro, it uses Stern's SPIKE 2 system and a translite in place of a backglass, but adds extra hardware for a deeper game.
The Premium features four flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, two spinning targets, two Newton ball targets, a captive ball, a 3-bank drop target, and an elevating center ramp; the left ramp has a gate at its top. Two molded figures, "Piece of Mind Eddie" and "Cyborg Eddie," serve as the game's toys, tying into Iron Maiden's mascot artwork.
The Mummy captive-ball feature is notable for using a switch-closing Newton ball target as its intermediary rather than the static post found on most games (including the Pro), and the Clairvoyant feature stands alone as its own Newton ball target. Combined with Elwin's shot layout and Packer's artwork, the Premium offers a richer mechanical experience than the Pro version for Iron Maiden fans and collectors.
