AC/DC (LUCI Vault Edition)

The AC/DC (LUCI Vault Edition), released by Stern Pinball in February 2018, is a Vault Edition reissue of Stern's 2013 'AC/DC (LUCI Premium),' produced with the same gameplay and rules as the original. Designed by Steve Ritchie with art by Kevin O'Connor and software by Lyman F. Sheats Jr., it's part of Stern's long-running line of officially licensed music-themed pinball machines.

Gameplay-wise, the AC/DC features an array of mechanics befitting its rock-and-roll theme. The four flippers provide a responsive playing experience, while three pop bumpers, two slingshots, and eight stand-up targets add layers of complexity to the gameplay. A lower mini-playfield, spinning target, and rotating ball cannon also contribute to the machine's dynamic feel. The machine leans heavily into its band-specific theming - moving band members, a swinging bell with a mounted pinball, and a TNT detonator with a moving handle showcase the game's attention to AC/DC-specific detail.

The design and art of the AC/DC machine are equally striking. Factory LED lights illuminate various components, including inserts, general illumination, and special-effects LEDs, creating an electrifying atmosphere reminiscent of a live concert. As a Vault Edition reissue built on a well-established, well-regarded ruleset, AC/DC (LUCI Vault Edition) gives more recent buyers a chance to own a machine themed around Angus Young, Bon Scott, and Brian Johnson's music.
