Vedette

The Vedette is a rare and enigmatic pure mechanical pinball machine that has left many historians and enthusiasts scratching their heads. Its significance lies in its mysterious origins - the manufacturer, year of production, and designer remain unknown, making it an intriguing specimen for collectors and researchers alike. Despite the lack of documentation, the machine's design and features suggest a unique blend of craftsmanship and innovation.

Gameplay-wise, the Vedette is notable for its shooter lane, which allows the ball to loop 360 degrees around the playfield before entering into play. This innovative feature was likely ahead of its time, showcasing the ingenuity of its creator(s). The machine's playfield features a large aluminum six-sided polygon, serving as both a ball guide and a decorative element depicting a sailing ship. A totalizer and metal plaque with the name "VEDETTE" add to the machine's visual appeal.

The Vedette's design and theme are undeniably nautical-themed, with a focus on sailing and boats. The presence of a license plate stamped with "BREVET P.J. THANS" and a License number hints at possible patent applications or licensing agreements that may have played a role in the machine's production. Unfortunately, without further research, the story behind this enigmatic pinball remains shrouded in mystery, leaving enthusiasts to piece together its history through observations of its design and features.
