Pirates of the Caribbean Collector’s Edition
About This Machine
The Pirates of the Caribbean Collector's Edition pinball machine, designed by Eric Meunier and released in 2018 by Jersey Jack Pinball, Inc., is a remarkable addition to the world of pinball. As one of the most iconic licensed themes of all time, this machine brings the swashbuckling adventure of Pirates of the Caribbean to life on the playfield. Significantly, it marks a shift towards more complex and immersive gameplay in modern pinball design.
Gameplay features include five flippers, four pop bumpers, three slingshots, 27 standup targets, three spinning targets, and three concentric spinning disks. The machine's variable-speed rocking elevated mini-playfield is a standout feature, offering players a unique challenge as the ball cannon moves up and down, altering shot trajectories. Other notable features include magnets, kick-out holes, scoops, whirlpool funnels, and a left crossover return lane with right dual in-lanes.
The machine's design and art are equally impressive, boasting a 27-inch backbox LCD display, 72-light display on the playfield back panel, and an external volume and headphone jack. The clear-coated playfield and RadCals cabinet decals add to the overall aesthetic appeal. Interestingly, this machine features actual glass for the backglass, rather than a translite, giving it a premium feel. As one of Jersey Jack's premium releases, with production reportedly limited to 200 units, the Pirates of the Caribbean Collector's Edition is a must-play for pinball enthusiasts looking to experience cutting-edge gameplay and design.

A ball cannon is attached to the bottom of the upper mini-playfield so it rocks when the mini playfield rocks and, as a result, the trajectory of the shot changes as the cannon moves up and down. The target ship is on the left side of the playfield; it’s possible to hit the ship or for the ball to go into a hole in the side (a more accurate and damaging shot).
