About This Machine

ROCs, released by Multimorphic, Inc. on July 28, 2017, is a software-only "mini-game" download for the company's modular P3 Pinball Platform. Unlike the platform's hardware kits, ROCs does not include its own upper-playfield module or magnetic cabinet art panels — it is designed to work with whatever upper-playfield module is already installed on a P3 machine, providing its own rules and dynamic game-specific imagery on the lower-playfield LCD.

Conceived by BJ Wilson and Gerry Stellenberg, with cabinet artwork by Rory Cernuda and in-game LCD artwork, sound, and software all handled by BJ Wilson, ROCs demonstrates the flexibility of the P3 platform's software-driven approach to game design. A game-specific translite was available for an extra cost.

While specific details of ROCs' ruleset are not well documented, its existence as a download-only title illustrates how Multimorphic's platform decouples game software from physical playfield hardware — letting owners add new games to their existing P3 machine without swapping out mechanical components.
