About This Machine

Alice Cooper, designed by Charlie Emery with artwork by Jeff Zornow, was released by Spooky Pinball in June 2018 and appears to be the first licensed pinball machine built around the shock-rock legend, per available records. It runs on a Multimorphic P3-ROC system, and Spooky produced 500 confirmed units at a manufacturer's price starting at $6,250 (later revised to $6,450); after-factory 'Bronze,' 'Silver,' and 'Gold' editions were also sold at higher prices with additional third-party customization.

The horror/supernatural theme is brought to life through a castle sculpture by Matt Riesterer, a raising-and-lowering ghoul figure in the upper left corner, castle ramparts and tower, and a working guillotine. Gameplay includes three flippers, a spinning target, six standup targets, two magnets — including a thrust magnet below the flipper gap that returns the ball into play — 2-in-line drop targets, a stand-alone drop target, a coiled habitrail, and an elevated mini-playfield; notably, there are no pop bumpers. Over 700 speech clips recorded by Alice Cooper himself feature throughout the game.

The soundtrack includes original music from ten Alice Cooper songs, with music credited to Alice Cooper and Matt Montgomery, sound by Scott Danesi, and software by David Fawcett, Scott Danesi, and Jimmy Lipham — making it a deeply personal, artist-driven title within Spooky Pinball's catalog.
