AC/DC (Pro LED)
About This Machine
AC/DC (Pro LED), designed by Steve Ritchie and released by Stern Pinball in 2014, is an updated version of Stern's 2012 'AC/DC (Pro),' announced by the manufacturer that August as featuring LED lighting throughout, the addition of a swinging bell toy, and Stern's then-new modern metal-and-wood backbox with a decaled cabinet and speaker housing. According to Stern, all other game features, artwork, and music carried over unchanged from the earlier Pro model. It carried an MSRP of $5,595 when new.
Gameplay centers on two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, 15 standup targets, a spinning target, and a rotating ball cannon, with 2-, 3-, and 4-ball multiball modes. Dot animation was handled by Mark Galvez and Tom Kyzivat, sound by David Thiel, and software by Lyman F. Sheats Jr.
As a music-licensed title built around AC/DC's catalog and imagery, the Pro LED remains a popular entry point into the AC/DC pinball lineup for collectors seeking the classic Pro layout with modern lighting.
