Star Wars (Pro)
About This Machine
The Star Wars (Pro) pinball machine, designed by Steve Ritchie and released by Stern Pinball in June 2017, brings the cast and iconography of the original Star Wars trilogy (Episodes IV, V, and VI) to the playfield. As the entry-level model in Stern's three-tier Star Wars lineup, it uses a translite instead of a backglass and decal cabinet artwork, with Steve Ritchie noting that all 23 art panels across the three models were made unique at Lucasfilm's request.
One of the standout aspects of the Star Wars (Pro) is its robust feature set, including nine multiball modes and one Wizard mode, with up to six balls in simultaneous play. The machine incorporates two flippers, two pop bumpers, three slingshots, nine standup targets, a 5-bank drop target, a horseshoe lane with single and dual up-posts, and a scoop. A slingshot is used to interact with the two pop bumpers, and a miniature LCD screen is built into the playfield.
The Star Wars (Pro) also features an illuminating Death Star toy and an interactive Tie Fighter bash toy, along with a powder-coated wrinkle finish on its legs, side armor, hinges, and lockdown bar. Zoned red, white, and blue general illumination LEDs, green LEDs on the Death Star, and RGB LEDs elsewhere give the game a vivid lighting design, rounding out a machine built for both casual play and serious competition.
