Zorro
About This Machine
Zorro, model number 739, was a solid-state electronic pinball project from Premier Technology (trade name Gottlieb) that was never produced. It was designed as a narrow-body game with two flippers, four pop bumpers, and two slingshots, for up to four players.
According to former Gottlieb employee Steve Young, surviving records include Bills of Material with roughly eight drawings/lists, mostly flat ball guides and wood sticks for the playfield, along with one circuit board and a photographed ramp. The exact year the Model 739 project took place is unconfirmed, but it falls between Model 738 (October 1993's Wipe Out) and Model 740 (May 1994's Rescue 911), placing it in that general timeframe.
As an unreleased prototype, Zorro exists today only through scattered engineering documentation rather than any playable or publicly seen machine, making it a footnote of interest to collectors of Gottlieb-era design history.
