About This Machine

Cavalier is a solid-state electronic pinball machine produced by Procedimientos Electromagnéticos de Tanteo y Color (trade name Petaco, S.A.) of Madrid, Spain, a manufacturer active from 1962 to 1977. The company also released an export version as Recel's 'Cavalier' in 1979. Its exact production date is unknown.

Gameplay features two flippers, two pop bumpers, two slingshots, four star rollovers, two kick-out holes, a vari-target, and a spinning target. A distinctive design element is the open-elbow inlane, which lets the ball pass between the inlane and outlane and back again, adding an unusual twist to typical EM/SS-era lane design.

Cavalier's theme centers on historical characters, though specific artwork and thematic details have not survived in the historical record. Like other Petaco/Recel titles, it illustrates the parallel domestic and export releases common to this Spanish manufacturer.
