Desert Gun

Desert Gun is a 1977 electro-mechanical arcade game from Midway Manufacturing Company, released in July 1977. It is not a pinball machine but a gun game (shooting gallery style) built around an American West theme, evoking cowboys and outlaws popularized by Hollywood westerns.

As a single-player gun game, Desert Gun would have had players aim and fire at targets rather than control flippers, which distinguishes it from Midway's pinball offerings of the same era. Specific details of its target layout and scoring rules are not documented.

Desert Gun is a lesser-known entry from Midway's long run as a coin-op manufacturer (1959-1978), and it is of interest to collectors primarily as an example of the gun-game genre that existed alongside traditional pinball on 1970s arcade floors.
