About This Machine

The Batman (66 Premium) pinball machine, designed by George Gomez and released by Stern in December 2016, celebrates the classic 1966 Adam West Batman television series, arriving in the show's 50th-anniversary year. It builds on Stern's history of licensed superhero titles with a design squarely focused on nostalgia for the campy, colorful original show.

Gameplay on the Batman (66 Premium) is both challenging and rewarding, thanks to its array of features. The machine boasts two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, 20 standup targets, a spinning target, a kick-out hole, a vertical up-kicker, a magnet, a diverter, and a rotating mini-playfield - all of which contribute to an immersive experience. The inclusion of speech and action footage from the TV series on the backbox LED screen adds an interactive element, making players feel like they're part of the iconic Batman universe.

The design and art, credited to Christopher Franchi, are a testament to the game's high-quality production. The chrome-finished ramps give it a sleek, premium look, while the attention to detail in the artwork ensures the game is meticulously themed to the show. The Batman (66 Premium) also features an 8-ball multiball mode. Though advertised by Stern as "Batman 66," the "66" does not actually appear anywhere on the game itself, and no 'Pro' model of this title was produced - only this Premium alongside Limited and Super Limited Editions.
