Ghostbusters (Premium)
About This Machine
The Ghostbusters (Premium), released by Stern Pinball in 2016 and designed by John Trudeau, is a licensed table built around the classic 1984 film. As with many licensed themes, it aims to combine cutting-edge gameplay with nostalgic charm for fans of the franchise.
The Premium adds features not found on the Pro model, including two electromagnets beneath the lower playfield that simulate slingshot action and an interactive holograph projector. Its playfield includes two flippers, three pop bumpers, nine standup targets, six captive balls, two drop targets, two kick-out holes, a vertical up-kicker, a spinning target, a Newton ball, and an upper playfield with a post. Toys include a color-changing Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, a rotating motorized Slimer, a 3D firehouse, a molded public library, a molded storage containment facility, and a city skyline.
The Ghostbusters (Premium) is also notable for its presentation: a "Ghostbusters and Stay Puft" translite replaces the backglass, the playfield features seven full-spectrum color-changing RGB LEDs beneath the arrow inserts alongside all-LED general illumination, and the cabinet uses black powder-coated steel, plywood, and decal artwork. At an MSRP of $7,595, it sat above the Pro model in Stern's Ghostbusters lineup.
