Game of Thrones (Premium)
About This Machine
Game of Thrones (Premium) is a premium offering from Stern Pinball, released in 2016 as a follow-up to the standard Pro edition. This medieval-themed pinball machine, designed by Steve Ritchie, boasts an expanded feature set compared to the Pro model: four flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, eleven stand-up targets, electric gates, a 3-bank drop target, a solitary drop target, a spinning target, a diverter, and more.
Gameplay is centered around navigating players through the world of Westeros, with a raised elevated playfield adding a distinct visual and physical layer to the shot geometry. RGB LED lighting is used extensively across the machine, including full-spectrum color-changing lighting under all playfield inserts and floodlights on the upper playfield. Notable toys include a motorized, animated interactive dragon and an Iron Throne toy that holds and ejects balls, alongside the dragon kicker, sliding bash target, sword-shaped ball multiball release, and a ball elevator feeding the elevated playfield.
The art and design of Game of Thrones (Premium) include detailed decal cabinet artwork and a translite in place of a traditional backglass, with backglass art by Greg Freres and Steven Martin and sculpting by Dave Link. With its blend of challenging gameplay, elaborate mechanical features, and licensed theme, Game of Thrones (Premium) stands as one of the more ambitious titles in Stern's lineup of that era.
